Summary: Garth, a boy dying from an incurable disease, accidentally gets sent to the afterlife by a ghost wrangler named Frank Gallows. Garth tries to find a way home and Frank tries to fix his mistake. Along the way Garth meets all sorts of crazy creatures and encounters a evil ruler who feels threatened by Garth's powers. It all ends happy with the evil ruler conquered and Garth safely home and healed from his disease.

Comments: It is a cute book, but a pretty shallow plot. There's nothing legendary that will make the book stand the test of time as a classic. It is just a fun and mystical two-hour read.

Classroom Application:
Lexile: 300L
Age: 10-13 years old
I would recommend this for the students that just can't get into a normal book written in prose. This would be a way to capture a boy's attention and get books back in his hand. I wouldn't do any lessons with this book.
